The Flip Flop Regatta is one of the few major PHRF regattas to originate outside of Boston Harbor. The race will be a pursuit race with each boat starting on her own time. The race is open to all mono-hull cruising/racing boats holding a current PHRF NE Certificate.

If you do not have a PHRF NE certificate, you can apply for one here.

The Flip Flop Regatta is the first major PHRF Regatta originating outside Boston Harbor. The race will be a distance pursuit race with each boat starting on her own time, and will be open to all mono-hull cruising/racing boats holding a current PHRF NE certificate. This year the race course has been re-developed to offer a challenging mix of government marks and buoys to maximize the race experience. We promise a race like no other this year! The race will start outside the harbor, and with the tides with us this year and a little luck, will finish near Courageous Sailing Center Pier 4 in close proximity to the Mount Gay Rum tent.
The Flip Flop Regatta has an 85% return rate year after year. Check out the
results pages for 2003 - 2007 to see who your competition could be!!!
Recruit, Recruit, Recruit
The Race Committee will assign boats to classes based on their current PHRF NE ratings. If you are able to recruit at least 5 boats within your fleet (One-Design), your fleet will be given its own class!
Please contact the Race Committee for more details.
This year we are proud to be named as a Qualifier in the 2008 Mass Bay Pursuit Race Championship series!

Ally loved flip flops. And she loved sailing. Most of all, she loved a good party for a great cause. So it’s fitting that her friends — Kelly Bresnahan, Gregg Nourjian, Alec Stern, and Tom Zauli — founded the Flip Flop Regatta five years ago in her memory and in support of The ALLY Foundation.
Alexandra Nicole Zapp was brutally murdered by a repeat sex offender on July 18, 2002. The ALLY Foundation was established to prevent opportunities for violent sex offenses, to educate the public, and to advocate for necessary changes in culture, attitude, and policy.
So throw on your flip flops and come sail for The ALLY Foundation. It’s a great time, for an even better cause. |
